Whether you are a designer, a developer, or you just downloaded a WordPress theme and want to check its integrity, some quality control is always good. Here are three ways you can use to validate your WordPress themes.
An excellent resource if you don’t want to install a plugin to check your themes, just head to themecheck.org and upload your plugin files. Once you hit the submit button, the magic will happen and you’ll get a score for your theme, as well as a comprehensive list of critical alerts and warnings.
The Theme Check plugin
A simple WordPress plugin that will check your WordPress theme with an up-to-date version of the WordPress theme guidelines. The theme review standards are built for the WordPress.org repository, so it may point out some flaws that don’t matter for a custom theme, but they will be very useful to ensure the quality of your theme.
Theme Authenticity Checker
This WordPress plugin is not a developer tool like the other two, but it can be very useful if you want to install a theme that you have downloaded from another source than the WordPress.org repository.
